Least favourite is flattery. I hate this song. It's only purpose in my life is to amuse me, and, to give it some credit, it does at least achieve this. But the total disregard for music, both in instrumental and lyrical form is disgraceful, and, frankly, this song should be erased from history like something out of 'Nineteen-Eighty-Four'...
Who wrote this? Because blaming this all on a 13 year old girl would be harsh. I don't hate Rebecca Black. In fact I pity her; a poor, innocent pawn in a sick, perverted game of evil, songwriting belligerence and internet mass destruction...urgh...it makes my skin crawl.
Firstly, what is going on with the words? The front/back seat thing? Ok, that's relatively annoying, but the real blow comes with the 'yesterday was Friday' bit...'Sunday comes afterwards'...AAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH! IT'S JUST SO WRONG!
The synths are really bad as well...better, perhaps, than some other songs around at the moment, but nonetheless, poppy and bland, the outro keyboard echo belonging on a Chemical Brothers record, and not at the end of a teenage girl's borderline retarded musical moment of inexplicable excitement...it's just Friday, it happens every week...get over it...
I am also assuming that this song charting is some kind of joke? Some very decent records don't reach no. 60...jseeeeessh....though this is probably also down to the hilarious parodies, covers and remixes that the internet spawned, alongside some very good official ones - Bieber's version, half serious, half ridiculous, was brilliant, and Katy Perry couldn't help but laugh as she performed it live. Perhaps Glee win though, the seriousness of the performance tongue-in-cheek to the end, the instrumentation actually ending up being far superior to the original.
I can't say much more, mainly because I don't want to, and because there is nothing else to say. Hear it, and make up your own mind, you'll see what I meant. I can only assure you, that tomorrow's record is far better...
